It all started with a problem that was important to us: the lack of confidence and transparency in the purchase of a used vehicle.
We strongly believe that no one deserves to be scammed.
2018. Canada.
Edouard, a car enthusiast works in a used car dealership, as a salesman. He is disappointed with the experience offered to his customers: a lack of ethics and transparency, and a single goal: to sell car stock. His friends used to turn to him for the purchase of a car, and Edouard was happy to help them. He liked to put his expertise to use, after having himself made a bad purchase that cost him dearly.
Adelaide has no knowledge of cars and finds buying a used car complex. She doesn't feel confident, and that even dissuades her from buying a car.
“We don't know where to start and we are suspicious of everything. It's not fair that people are not transparent with you because you don't know much about cars. And yet, some take advantage of it. If you are not accompanied by a trustworthy person who knows about cars, it is scary because you can be ripped off."
In short, for several decades, the automotive industry has been in a crisis of confidence, with many asymmetries of information between the buyer and the seller. This is why they founded Kiwiz with the vision to de becoming the trusted benchmark in the used car industry.

At kiwi, we wage war on lemons!
As opposed to a lemon (American expression designating a vehicle with one or more hidden defects), A kiwiz is a vehicle with no hidden defects, purchased with confidence.
…yes, it's an (almost) fictional word…!
After an inspection performed on the vehicle of our clients who wished to sell, we made a selection to keep only the vehicles in good condition. Then, we helped the client to sell it in order to allow the buyer to buy with confidence, our certified vehicles.
We wanted to take the problem upside down by helping buyers of used vehicles in order to have a greater impact on the problem of confidence when buying. We accompanied buyers from A to Z in order to better understand what were the frustrations in the buying process.
In accompanying the buyer from A to Z we realized that it is during the inspection that the buyers had the most difficulty, and the least confidence. After validating the problem, we focused on the inspection to allow a maximum of people to buy with confidence. In short, this is where Kiwiz can have the greatest positive social impact!

"There are clearly serious questions to be asked. It's still a bit worrying. We wonder if when we go to the garage we are told exactly the right things."
